My vision of a world is where people learn how to respect and honour the differences between us. I am a fan of a learner-centred teaching philosophy and utilize its concepts and also methods in my job at all times.
You may want to wonder exactly what this philosophy has to do with. I will tell you below.
Experiential learning
Learner-centred approaches of education and learning emerged as a response to the constraints of conventional, authoritarian versions of education. Rather than establishing colleges as places where a fixed base of knowledge is transmitted from instructors to trainees, these approaches motivate collaboration between learners and educators in order to locate the finest answers to concerns facing contemporary learners. In accordance with these viewpoints, because the world is continuously transforming, students must find answers via hands-on, experiential learning.
The core of my philosophy
There are 3 main components that compose this ideology. They are as follows:
The scientific approach. Learners are expected to pursue answers to their inquiries through analytic and critical thinking and also are hardly ever anticipated to find their answers in a book.
Innate inspiration. learning by heart is discouraged due to the fact that trainees do not see exactly what they're doing as intrinsically beneficial- they simply need to take the educator's word for it and pursue external results.
Experimental study. Progressive colleges give youngsters the chance to discover by doing. Art areas, wood-processing shops, cooking areas, and also science laboratories are features of modern schools. I engage various tools and also real-life cases to teach my students.
How I treat my students
Kids must be afforded the freedom of speech where feasible. I also consider that trainees must be granted the chance to define themselves as personalities, and an adult's duty as a teacher need to involve inspiring, however not dictating.
I am proud of myself on having a meaningful discussion with my students from Laverton North. I never tell trainees the best ways to assume or what to believe. I let them come and also examine to their own conclusions.
